CGMS ADVISORY PROGRAM HONORED
The Minnesota Association of Secondary School Principals has named Cottage Grove Middle School (CGMS) a recipient of the Silver Star Award for creating an advisory program focused on social and emotional learning.
Tim Hofmann, Assistant Principal at CGMS worked closely with the school’s counseling staff to develop and implement the advisory program.
“The goal of addressing our students’ challenge areas while augmenting their strengths has helped our students grow socially and emotionally,” said Hofmann. “The counseling team along with our cultural liaisons, equity team lead, student achievement specialist and AVID coordinator created topics and content for the lessons that were delivered to students weekly.”
Spring data showed CGMS students self-reporting greater strengths and reduced challenges. Congratulations to CGMS on this achievement.
