FROM YOUR MEDIA CENTER

We have a new look! The renovations are almost complete. I look forward to seeing our students enjoy time in our new space. We have expanded our area along with new comfy seating, large group areas, and collaborative spaces. We also have a MakerSpace that your child can visit on certain days if they have completed their work in classes. As students are checking out books they will be reminded about overdue books. In order for them to check out library books your child will need to return or pay for the books that they borrowed during the 2016-17 school year. This will not affect their textbooks, although these fines will follow them into High School. Stop by any time! Mrs. McCrady

SCHOOL CAFE

Starting in the fall of 2017, District 833 Nutrition Services will be switching from PayPAMS to SchoolCafé due to a technology upgrade.  Parents will no longer be able to utilize PayPAMS to view balances or deposit funds into their child’s lunch account.  Account balances shown in PayPAMS will automatically transfer to SchoolCafé once an account is created and students are added.

To create an account:

  • Go to SchoolCafe.com and select register
  • Enter in “South Washington County Schools” for the district
  • Enter basic contact information
  • Choose a username and password
  • Accept the terms and conditions

Add your student(s) to your account using your student’s school ID number, which can be found on Parent Portal.

SchoolCafé allows for more options for parents, and is very user-friendly.With a SchoolCafé account you will be able to set email low balance reminders, schedule automatic payments, review student purchases online and apply for free and reduced meal benefits.

SchoolCafé also has a free mobile app available for use on any smart device. However, free and reduced meal benefit applications must be completed through a web browser.

Students can still pay for their school meals with cash or check.

If you have any questions about setting up a new account or the system you can reach Nutrition Services at 651-425-6280.

NEWS FROM THE NUTRITION DEPARTMENT

Ala Carte

Nutrition Services offers Ala Carte options at a variety of school buildings, in addition to the regular school breakfast or lunch. For a complete list of snacks and pricing available to elementary, middle and high school students, please go to the district website @www.sowashco.org and then click on “Lunch Menus” and then “Menus and Pricing”.  It is the priority of the Nutrition Services Department to have students select and enjoy the complete breakfast or lunch meal.

**If for any reason you wish to set limits on your student’s account, please contact your school cashier.

SCHOOL POLICIES

Lunch with students - if a parent/guardian wants to have lunch with their student, we will find a space for them in the building. Parent/guardians will no longer be allowed to eat in our lunchroom with their students.

After school visitors - Need to report to the main office if they wish to see a teacher after school from 2:30pm-3:15pm. We want our staff to continue to be available for parents before and after school, but under normal circumstances it should be by appointment.

STUDENT RIGHTS AND RESPONSIBILITIES HANDBOOK

The 2015-16 Student Rights and Responsibilities Handbook is on our district website: http://www.sowashco.org/files/policies/RR.pdf and also on the CGMS website under both the parent and student tabs.
